Open Real User Monitoring, and navigate to the Compare tab
This is the comparison selector, here you can select a dimension which you want to compare on.
Available dimensions include:
- Country code
- Operating system
In this example, we'll select the Browser dimension.
Once the dimension has been selected, you can select two different browsers to compare side by side.
You can search for any browser which your users are browsing your web app on. (e.g. If none of your users are using Vivaldi, then that won't show up in the search results)
Once the comparison is complete, you'll see there are now additional modules below the comparison selector.
First is the Performance module:
Here your team can view how the page speed compares for users between the two browsers, and see the page load time over time. This can help to identify spikes and trends in your app's performance.
Next is the Most requested pages module:
This shows your team the number of views and page load time of your app's most requested pages.
Hover over the load time value for a more detailed breakdown of the page load time.
The Users module gives your team insight into how your users experience your app.
User satisfaction is characterised here - representing either an Excellent (happy), Average (mediocre), or Poor (sad) user experience. This status is based on the page load time metrics.
Anonymous users are not included in the chart data by default, click the checkbox in the top right of the module to toggle this data.
The Geo module displays the top five fastest and slowest load times by location.
Note: If the dimension you've selected is Country code, then this module won't show.
You can adjust the date range to narrow or widen the data set using the date range picker in the top-right of the page.
Filter your data even further using the top-level filters.
Step 1: Click Add Filter in the top-level filters bar at the top, select a dimension to filter on
Step 2: Select a comparator
Step 3: Select values to filter on
Note - changing top level filters will clear your selected comparison dimension and values.
