Coming soon! A sneak peek at Raygun Alerting’s Slack integration

| 2 min. (305 words)

The Slack integration is our #1 feature request for our Alerting feature, and the Raygun team has been busy at work making this feature available to all our customers. We expect this feature to be available around early - mid July 2022.

Many of you, our curious customers, have asked for a preview of what’s to come. So we thought we’d share some specs and screenshots with you as we progress through the work. If you want to be notified as soon as it’s available, or have any questions or feedback, please let us know here.

High-level specs:

  • Customers will have the ability to authenticate Slack with Alerting at the plan level without the need to reauthenticate for each app or alert For each alert, customers will be able to choose Slack as an action and specify the exact channel that the alert should be sent to

  • You can set up one Slack channel per alert

  • Emails and Webhooks can still be set up per alert, alongside the Slack integration

  • Existing emails and Webhooks will continue to operate as normal. No change is required on your part unless you no longer wish to send the alert into these channels

  • The existing app-level Slack integration will continue to operate as normal. We are planning to deprecate the app-level Slack integration eventually to help reduce noise and provide flexibility and advanced capabilities through Raygun Alerting; however, for now, the two Slack integrations will co-exist to eliminate disruption to service
