Feature Request

C++ - Incoming filter on customData field.

Current Status:

Completed

Raygun for C++ relies on breakpad, which doesn't report version info. Our solution, is that we include both version info and our git hash as customData parameters (queryable in the console).

It would be great if we could filter inbounds based on a customData field (simple string comparison would suffice, as I don't mind manually adding a filter per version we're uninterested in tracking).

Otherwise, with a lot of users and an application watchdog, this gets out of hand in a hurry. Thinking of moving our company to sentry.io because of this. With an inbound filter, I wouldn't need to make the change.

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your use case around inbound filter for C++.

The Crash Reporting Team and I have discussed your requirements and we believe that a new type of inbound filter, based on matching the content of the CustomData field would work well for your scenario.

We've created a task for the team to add into the app in the very near future (within the next couple of sprints). There is no ETA on this currently but I will give you an update here as soon as this is near completion.

Thanks

Zheng

Hey,

We would also have a lot of use for that feature, great to see it's coming!

Hi All,

CustomData is now a parameter for inbound filters in Crash Reporting. Simply navigate to inbound filters and it should be the last tab on the page.

You can also see a screenshot here in our docs: https://raygun.com/documentation/product-guides/crash-reporting/inbound-filters/

We hope you enjoy the new feature and please let us know if you have any feedback for us about this feature.

Happy coding!
