Feature Request
Xamarin Pulse Track Event/Action
michaeldpup
Hi
Just tried the Xamarin Pulse beta support. I'm using Xamarin Forms and would love to be able to track custom events/actions.
ie: "Home page", "Add new entry", "Uploaded photo", etc
Currently the only info I get is views like:
FormsPlatformiOSPageRenderer FormsPlatformiOSFormsUITableViewController UICompatibilityInputViewController FormsPlatformiOSNavigationRendererParentingViewController iOSCustomRenderersTabbedPageCustom FormsPlatformiOS_PlatformRenderer
Which is quite useless.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Custom events/actions is a planned feature for Pulse for mobile. We'll update this thread when it's available.

We haven't implemented custom event tracking yet. While it makes a lot of sense, it's not a core performance tracking proposition. Theoretically we could "bolt it in" without too much stress, but we don't want to have a highly desired feature be implemented as a 'bolt on'. We'd want to include some great ways to slice and dice that data, report on it over time, etc. Doing that right is important.
Appreciate the interest in this feature, so it's certainly something we want to support, but we want to do it right.
Kind regards,

Without events/actions tracking, Real User Monitoring/Pulse in mobile is useless.

Any news? This is the only feature holding us back from using Raygun.
