New occurrences of permanently ignored errors are received even when "Do not store..." has been selected

I have an error (u7fft3/errors/1908895362) in state "Permanently ignored" with "Do not store new occurrences of these errors while permanently ignored or count them towards my plan quota." selected. When visiting the error page, this is confirmed by a yellow banner stating "You have requested that no new occurrences are to be stored. Re-activate this error to resume data collection.".

However, new instances of this error are still being received on a daily basis. So it appears like this feature is broken. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this is a merged error? Maybe the "Do not store..." setting only works for some of the sub-errors?
