Search by URL

Hey there,

I'm missing (or at least haven't found) an option to search by URL. Sometimes an error happens that is specific to one URL only and it'd be nice to search for the URL to see if there were any errors. I can only find Browser, OS, tags and such.

Is that something on the roadmap?

Hi there,

You can use the filter feature in Crash Reporting to filter/search by URL. Simply click on "Add filter" UI in the top of the Crash Reporting dashboard and choose "Host" and follow the prompt to complete your search by URL.

You can also use the search box to search by URL, but you will need to write a small query, here is more detail if you'd like to give it a try: https://raygun.com/documentation/product-guides/crash-reporting/searching-error-groups/

Hope that helps

Zheng

Host only contains the domain, not the path (as expected). Typing "url:https://example.org" (either in Filter or in Search) as per documentation returns with no results, as if the filter doesn't even recognize what "url:" is.

Hi there,

Thanks for following up. You are right that there appears to be a bug that is not recognising "URL" in the search and filter inputs. I've spoken with our Crash Reporting Team, who is looking into a fix now. I will give you an update here once we've fixed the issue.

Thanks for your patience and please bear with us while we fix the issue.

Thanks

Zheng

Hi all,

Sorry for delay in providing an update here. The Crash Reporting Team is still investigating the search bug as part of our bigger enhancements in this area, but there is a quick workaround in the mean time:

In the existing search box, you can perform a URL search by:

  • NOT using the "url:" search prefix
  • Enter the URL without the url scheme “https://” or “http://“ e.g. Use www.example.com/exampleurl and NOT http://www.example.com/exampleurl

If you are still experiencing issues with this workaround, please let us know and we can further investigate.

Thanks

Zheng
