Feature Release – Bulk export data with Raygun’s new export function

| 3 min. (447 words)

Note: Crash Reporting bulk export is for Business and Enterprise plans only. All plan types currently support the ability to export individual error instance from Raygun.

Your company may need to export the data that Raygun Crash Reporting collects for reporting and management purposes. This functionality is one of our highest requested features, and today I’m happy to announce that using Raygun’s new Crash Reporting e****xport feature, you can now export raw Crash Reporting data from Raygun’s dashboard.

With the export data feature you can:

  • Export your data into a third party system (e.g. RedShift, Hadoop) allowing you to analyze, build dashboards and gain even more insight at a granular level.
  • Store error data for longer periods for archival purposes.
  • Access crash report data for other systems such as automatically emailing impacted users.

There are two ways of exporting data. You can either:

  • Get error instances for selected error groups for a date range.
  • Export error instances for all error groups for a date range.

Once the export is complete, a link to compressed data file (in the form of a 7zip file) can be emailed to team members or used to drill down into the diagnostics of regular occurrences. When exporting, all instances of an error in an error group over a specified time range will be exported.

This data can then be used when data analysis is needed – particularly useful if you use a third party data analysis team.
