Documentation - Pulse for mobile - Sessions

The Sessions tab displays statistics about sessions over the current time range, as well as a list of the latest sessions.

Session statistics

The session stats show aggregated values over the current time range along with a 6-point sparkline. You generally want to see an upwards trend for the session and user count.

  • Sessions is the total number of sessions within the current time range. A session is counted even if it is partially within the current time range.
  • Users is the number of unique users that used your application within the current time range.
  • Median length is the median length of all the sessions counted within the current time range.

Session details table

This table details all the individual sessions within the current time range. The sessions are ordered so that the latest session is first. Clicking the magnifying glass in the last column will drill down into more information about that session.

The 'Include anonymous users' option in the top right corner of this table allows you to toggle the inclusion of anonymous users in the displayed data.

  • User displays the name, email or user identifier you provided for the user using your app in this session. A guid is displayed if you haven't provided any user information. Clicking the user will take you to a page containing more information about that user.
  • Country is the country where this user was using your application at the time. Clicking the country name will take you to a page detailing the usage of your application in that country.
  • Duration is the length of this session.
  • View count is the number of views that the user navigated between during this session.
  • Last view is the last view the user saw during this session. This may change if the session is still active. Clicking this will take you to a page detailing the usage of this view.

Session overview

Here you get some basic information about the session and the user.

  • User displays the users name, email or unique id you've provided, or a guid if you haven't provided user information. The country and ip address of where the session occurred is also displayed. Clicking the user or country will take you to a page containing more information about them.
  • Device information displays the device type and operating system used for this session.
  • Session length is the length of this session.
  • View count is the number of views that the user navigated between during this session.
  • Average load time is the average from all of the trace block loading times during this session.
  • Errors is the number of exceptions that occurred during this session. This includes both unhandled exceptions and the exception that caused a crash if any. Note that this count is only available if you have enabled Raygun Crash Reporting in your application which is a separate product.

Session trace

The session trace is a timeline of your user navigating between views over the course of this session. Each block shows the name of the view, the time it started loading, the time the user spent on this view, and a list of any exceptions that occurred. Clicking the view name will take you to a page detailing the usage of that view. Clicking on an exception will take you to the exception report containing more information about it such as the stack trace. Note that this feature is only available if you have enabled Raygun Crash Reporting in your application which is a separate product.
